We are off to Kenya for a year to
work with and serve Robin and Margaret Aim in Nairobi. Robin and
Margaret are Assemblies of God missionaries and have
been based in Nairobi since 1983
reaching out to the poor and the youth who are living in the slum
areas. Robin’s vision includes strengthening the church while
Margaret’s is to see the children hear the gospel and be given
opportunity to improve their future.
Dave is
going to be involved in a farm project that takes teenage boys from
the slum areas and teaches them practical skills, literacy and
disciples them in God’s word. They are then placed in employment
where they continue to be monitored and followed up by the team. The
success rate and feedback from this programme so far is positive.
Dave will spend some nights of the week at the farm (40 minutes out
of Nairobi) to maximise the use of his time and save money on
petrol.
Nikki
will be involved in supporting her husband, teaching her daughter,
reporting back to friends and family and doing whatever else God has
in store and is sure there will be plenty to get involved with.
Dana
is excited about going to Kenya – God gave her a dream about it. She
will be home schooled using NZ Correspondence School with Mum as her
teacher.
